Katie Wetherington – Preschool Director
Katie grew up in Dacula Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia and married her high school sweetheart. She and her husband, Jonathon, married in 1999 and have three daughters, Abigail, Anabel and Rachel Mae. Katie’s background is in human resource management, operations and staffing. Katie worked at MZP while her girls were young and while teaching her deaf daughter to listen and speak. After returning to the corporate world for several years, God brought her back to MZP as our Director. Katie is passionate about preschool education and wants kids to fall in love Jesus and with learning.
Melissa has lived in the Gwinnett area her entire life (in fact she grew up right here on Scenic Highway) and graduated from South Gwinnett High School. She attended Shorter University in Rome, GA before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jason. Jason and Melissa have been married since 1998 and now have 5 beautiful children- 2 biological and 3 adopted. Melissa taught at Mount Zion Weekday Preschool from 1999-2007 while two of her children attended here. She is excited to be back at Mount Zion Preschool in her new role as Administrative Assistant.
Ali Morgan – Music Teacher
Ali has been a Gwinnett County resident all her life! She graduated from Parkview High School in 1993. Shortly after completing a music degree from Mercer University, she married her high school sweetheart and began her happily ever after! Ali shared her musical talent in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and the Atlanta Opera company for a few years. Then, while running a successful Tupperware business for many years, God blessed the Morgan’s with 2 beautiful daughters. Her daughters had the privilege of attending Mt. Zion Preschool every year of their preschool days! She is now honored to share her musical talents with the precious kids and their families at Mount Zion Preschool.
Holly Ramsour-Lead Teacher, 4/5 Transition Class
Holly Ramsour is the lead teacher for our Transition Class. She has taught in public schools and has been on staff at MZ Preschool since 2012. Holly, a native Texan, graduated from Baylor University. She met her husband Marc while on a mission trip. Marc and Holly married in 1998 and have 3 daughters. She wants her students to leave every day excited about learning.
Jan Byers – Lead Teacher, 4 year old program
Jan was born and raised in Grayson Georgia and received an associate degree from Georgia Perimeter College. She and her husband, Ed, have one daughter, Rachel. Jan strives to ensure the children leave preschool with a love for learning and for Jesus.
Jill Story-Lead Teacher, 4 year old program
Jill has been ministering to children and youth through preschool teaching, children’s church, puppet ministry, Sunday school, youth counseling, and bus driving for over 30 years. In addition to teaching in our 4 year old program, she leads all of the 4 year olds in their daily PE activities. Jill has 2 grown daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 2 granddaughters. Ms. Jill Joined MZP in 1996.
Kathy Jarvis-Lead Teacher, 4 year old program
Kathy loves teaching and reading books! She joined MZP in 1995 and has been working with fours the entire time. Kathy and her husband, Bill, married in 1986 and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Mrs. Kathy makes learning fun!
Amy Baker – Lead Teacher, 3 year old program
Amy started teaching at Mount Zion Weekday Preschool in 2012. She grew up in Savannah and graduated from Georgia Tech. She and her husband Chad have four children and attend church at Mount Zion. Amy loves watching preschoolers blossom and grow as they make new friends and learn about the love of Jesus at Mount Zion.
Ruth Gray-Lead Teacher, 3 year old program
Ruth Gray is a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, and she has been teaching in the Weekday Preschool since 2003. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Ruth has been married to her husband Joe since 1988, has three daughters and two grandchildren. Before working at Mount Zion Preschool, Ruth worked for various forms of the telephone company and was self-employed in an administrative position for a number of years. Ruth enjoys scrapbooking, spending time with family, reading, and traveling.
Tracey Ogburn-Lead Teacher, 3 year old program
Tracey Ogburn is a long time resident of Gwinnett County. She attended Five Forks Middle (the year it opened) and Brookwood High School. She graduated from UGA and has been married to her husband Darien since 1990. Tracey and Darien have 2 children. Tracey is very involved with Grayson Cluster schools, Grace New Hope Church and Boy Scout Troop 56. She loves hanging out with the little guys and watching them grow into Godly beings!
Becky Fleming- Lead Teacher, 3 year old program
Becky grew up in Augusta, GA and graduated from Georgia College in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. She married in 2007 to David and they have 2 children, Brayden and Quinn. Becky will be teaching our 5 day-3 year old class. She comes to MZP having taught 3+ years at the middle and high school level. She is very passionate about education, her faith, and making sure every child feels loved and adored. She loves to bake and never turns down a good donut or a piece of chocolate/candy.
Dawn Terrill – Lead Teacher, 3 year old program
Dawn has been teaching at Mount Zion Weekday Preschool since 1994. She has three adult children and 4 grandchildren. She has a passion for Christ and teaching. She feels blessed to be able to combine the two to enrich the lives of children. Dawn will be leading our 4 day 3 year old class this year.
Sunshine has been teaching two year olds at MZWP since 2003. She has a background and training in the performing arts. She uses that training to bring stories and activities in the classroom to life for the children. Sunshine is also the owner and director of our Footsteps in Faith after school dance program for children in our 3 and 4 year old classes. She and her husband Earl have 2 daughters and are in the international adoption process to adopt a son from Haiti. And yes, her real name is Sunshine!
Pam Smith-Lead Teacher, 2 year old program
Pam Smith is a Georgia Native. Pam and her husband married in 1994 and have 2 daughters, Courtney and Lauren. Both of Pam’s daughters attended Mount Zion Weekday Preschool, and Mrs. Pam joined the MZP team in 2006. Mrs. Pam has a sweet spirit, is very creative and loves teaching twos!
Caroline grew up in Gainesville, GA and has lived in Gwinnett County since 1994. She married her husband in 1999, and they have 2 children. Caroline received a diploma in Culinary Arts from Gwinnett Tech in 2002. She began working at Mount Zion Weekday Preschool in 2011. Caroline’s hobbies include baking, reading and participating in mud runs and Obstacle Course Races.

Gayle Kelley-Assistant Teacher, 4/5 Transition Class
Gayle Kelley and her husband, Tony, married in 1979 and have four children, and nine grandchildren. God gave her a passion to teach the word of God and show the love of Christ to children. Knowing this calling on her life, Gayle started teaching and working with children at a young age. Mrs. Gayle has been teaching at Mount Zion Preschool since 1997.
Linda Jimerson – Assistant Teacher, 4 year old program
Linda Jimerson has been married since 1976 to Jim, her high school sweetheart. She has two adult children and two precious grandchildren, who also attended Mt Zion Preschool. She has been a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church for over 20 yrs and has been teaching at Mt Zion Preschool since 2002. Her teaching philosophy is to prepare children to be successful students and to love them the way she wants her grandchildren loved.
Jessica Cash – Assistant Teacher, 4 year old program
Jessica grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from Athens State University. She and her husband, Thomas, were married in 2006 and have 3 boys. Jessica is an active volunteer in the children’s ministry at her church and volunteers at her boys elementary school. She loves helping children discover and learn new things as well as teaching them the love of Christ.
Kristen was born and raised in Gwinnett County where she met her husband. She enjoys reading and going for walks in her spare time. She went to Georgia Gwinnett College where she majored in Psychology with a concentration in Development. She is passionate about teaching children as well as preparing them for the next stage in their lives. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing her students eyes during that “ah-ha” moment when they understand a concept for the first time.
Kelley Faber – Assistant Teacher, 3 year old program
Kelley is a native to the Susquehanna Valley area in Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduation from Penn State, she moved to Georgia, and in 2010 married her high school sweetheart. She and her husband have one daughter, Annie, who is enrolled at Mount Zion. Kelley loves animals, and has spent some time working at the Georgia Aquarium developing children’s programs. She also enjoys cooking, crafts, and gardening. She is excited for the opportunity to work at Mount Zion and to help children expand their love for God and learning.
Vikki Broom-Assistant Teacher, 3 year old program
Vikki is from Marietta, Georgia. She attended Kennesaw State University where she met her husband Dion. Dion and Vikki have been married since 1985 and have 2 daughters, Megan and Emily. While her children were younger, Vikki volunteered in the Grace Fellowship Church children’s ministry and Parkview Christian School. Vikki wants to love and care for each child as Christ loves us.
Marquita Davis -Assistant Teacher, 3 year old program
Marquita Davis is an assistant teacher in our 4 day 3’s class. She is originally from Chicago and moved to Georgia in 2009. She meet her husband Kiejuan in college, and they have 3 children Kiejuan Jr and MaKenzie who are twins, and MaKayla . Marquita is currently pursuing her second Masters at Liberty University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has a passion for helping children learn and teaching them the joys of learning. She also enjoys helping parents to enjoy learning with their children. Marquita is always smiling and has an upbeat spirit. You might see her dancing in the morning carpool line.
Alaine Zurita-Assistant Teacher, 3 year old program
Alaine grew up at Mount Zion and in addition to teaching at MZP, is a two-year old Life Group teacher. She has spent 5+ years working as an in-home caregiver and has always had a love for children and watching them grow. Alaine and her husband, Brandon, have one son, Skylar. Alaine is excited about the opportunity to be a teacher at MZP, and both her and her son have great days playing at MZP.
Anna Norton – Assistant Teacher, 3 year old program
Anna Norton grew up in Newnan, GA. She earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration. Anna has always enjoyed working with kids: from nursery, Sunday School, babysitting, and working in a daycare setting. She has loved every opportunity! She is married to Bobby, and they have 4 children, Lucy, Abbie, Olivia and one boy, Charlie. She loves watching her kids play sports and taking cruises with her family.
Blake Van Sant-Assistant Teacher, 2 year old program
Blake grew up in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She is married and has one daughter. Blake is an assistant teacher for the four day 2’s class. She has been teaching preschool since 2015. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her family and traveling. She is also very involved in the Grayson Cluster PTA. Blake attends church at Mount Zion. She enjoys watching children grow and helping them develop a love of Jesus.
Brooke Martin-Assistant Teacher, 2 year old program
Brooke grew up in Fayetteville, GA and graduated from Auburn University. She and her husband, Titus, have been married since 2008 and have two children, Ty and Maddie. Brooke enjoys teaching kids new skills through play and having a role in their development. She loves how Mount Zion Preschool intertwines the lessons of Jesus into our curriculum so that students can understand and can begin their love of Christ.
Julie Stuart – Assistant Teacher, 2 year old program
Julie grew up in Snellville Georgia. She graduated from Piedmont college with a BA in Marketing and a Masters in Early Childhood Education. She and her high school sweetheart married in 2004 and have 4 children, Nathan, Ellie, Walker, and Sadie. Julie deeply loves to teach about Jesus and share her love for learning.
Meg Wood-Assistant Teacher, 1 year old program
Meg grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she went to Chattanooga State Community College. Meg and her husband, Jeremy were married in 1998 and have 3 children Graceanna, Maisey, and Easton. Meg and Jeremy moved to Grayson, Georgia in 2005 and are members at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Meg and Jeremy teach a high school life group, and Meg enjoys getting to help ones learn as they play at preschool.
Katy Cucuzza-Assistant Teacher, 1 year old Program
Katy grew up in Snellville, graduated from South Gwinnett High School and has a degree in Child and Family Development from The University of Georgia. She has been married to her High School sweetheart Andrew since 2003, and they have two beautiful daughters.
